I live to code.

Whew, there I said it. It’s rather easy to admit you’re a nerd. But it’s even harder to admit you are a die-hard geek that gets excited about creating promotional materials for books–whether they be Facebook applications, Adobe Flex forms for writers, or even WordPress plugins (coming soon ;-) ).

I put on several hats all the time. Not only am I a mother, but I also do coding for others whenever it falls in my lap (I code for Hot Damn Designs), and I write.  So how do I do all that and code at the same time? Well, I tend to make sacrifices. Instead of spending my spare time rearranging my closet, I’m at the computer learning new techniques for mobile development using Adobe Flex, or I’m developing on pen and paper how my game for COVETED will work out.

I’m basically a sponge when it comes to this kind of stuff. I love to learn new things. I hunger to examine a broken piece of code and make it functional again. (I do get a bit nuts after a few hours though.) It’s that drive that also makes me start a book and then finish it.

Personally, I don’t think you have to be a developer/inventor to make great things. I believe it takes imagination and determination. With the right drive you can create anything, whether it’s words or a program.

Man, you’re hardcore! I’m in awe. :-D My brother is a hard-core programmer and designer, and even though I can code, I don’t particularly enjoy it because I’m not that good at it.
