I turned in edits on The Shattered Dark last Monday. I wish I could shout out, “Hallelujah!” but I know there’s a ton of work that still needs to be done on that book – and that work doesn’t include the line edits I’ll receive from my editor soon. So I’m sure I’ll be super incredibly busy again soon.

This last week (at least, since 8pm last Monday when I turned in my edits!) has been great. My nanny left early on Wednesday (I’d begged her to come on Monday, her day off, because I still had a scene I needed to finish on TSD) so I hung out with the boys and wasn’t stressed out about it! Usually, I’m checking the clock, wondering when they’re next nap time will be and if they’ll take simultaneous naps and for how long because I really, really needed to work. So we just chilled together. It was so nice.

Then, I went shopping on Thursday! Actual groceries were purchased! And I walked around a few stores just for the heck of it. Went to The Container Store, which might just be my favorite store ever, now. Have I mentioned I’m on an organization kick? The house is driving me crazy. I think if I didn’t work from home, I could ignore it, but when I am working here, I see the clutter everywhere.

Then, the husband and I hung out with friends on Saturday and watched a movie on Sunday! I do admit, I’ve thought about the book quite a few times. I’m trying to wait until I get line edits before I start working on it again. I know I NEED this break. Plus, I have other things I need to do – like catch up on emails still. And I’d like to write a few blog posts in advance so I don’t totally neglect this blog like I have been. VERY sorry for that! And maybe I can actually write a post that has some kind of valuable content.

Anyway, it’s been nice to breath. What has everyone else been up to? It seems like it’s a busy time of the year.
