I have two topics today. First of all, I wanted to show off my huge TBR pile. Yep, I really do hope to get through all these. And to make things worse, I keep adding books to the pile. Normally, I prefer to read one book at once, but some many are falling into my lap that I tend to bounce around until one completely captures my attention.

Right now, I’ve just fallen in love with MINDBLIND. It was recommended off Twitter. Its about a teen with Asberger’s Syndrome. As a parent of a high-functioning autistic child, I find it so engrossing. A great book for parents to read!

I’m also a die-hard dystopic young adult reader. Give me Hunger Games, Matched, Wither, or any book like that and I will gobble it up voraciously. I guess I’m a sucker for a jacked up future. ;)
Right now I’m reading these:

1. MATCHED – Ally Condie
2. BUMPED – Megan Mccafferty
3. ENCLAVE – Ann Aguirre
4. THE LINE by Teri Hall

I also won some books from Harlequin American Romance blog . I’m reading COURT ME, COWBOY by Barbara White Daille. It’s quite fun! And well, I’m a sucker for Harlequin’s “rich-baby-daddy” books, too. LOL

I have some other books which I really want to jump back into:
5. THE WARDED MAN – Peter Brett
6. HOUNDED – Kevin Hearne (Almost done!)
7. VAMPIRE ACADEMY – Richelle Mead
8. FIRELIGHT – Sophie Jordan
9. NIGHTSHADE by Michelle Rowen
10. DARK HOLLOW by Brian Keene
11. WITCHLING by Yasmine Galenorn
12. UNDEAD AND UNWED by Mary Janice Davidson
13. MOCKINGJAY by Suzanne Collins (Yep, I really do need to finish this one…)
14. CHILD OF FIRE by Harry Connolly
15. INSIDE OUT by Maria V. Snyder (I need to finish this since I  now I have OUTSIDE IN. Yeah, I think I should jump on that!)
16. BLOOD ENGINE by T.A. PRATT
17. UNSYMPATHETIC MAGIC by Laura ResnicK

At the rate I’m going I might never catch up… (I even have a few more books that I didn’t take pictures of… *sigh*) You may not notice another thing about my list. A lot of the books I wanted to read are the first in many series. I need to read the first book so I can enjoy the rest. :( I just got out of heavy edit mode so I plan to read a lot more and get caught up.

In other news, my copy edits are here! Part of me is cheering since this is a milestone for me, while another part is cringing while I see what types of errors I constantly use. There are a few points where I plan to STET to maintain my voice in the manuscript, but a lot of the errors are pretty obvious. Case in point, how did I not see “split” was misspelled as “spilt”? Whoops!

My publication date has also been moved, which in this case is a good thing. I’m moving from February 2012 to May 2012 and I’ll be published under Ballantine instead of Del Rey. I’m very excited about the move since I’ll be pushed to a wider audience. My book is still the same. I still have a hoarding werewolf with OCD, an OCD wizard, a mermaid who is afraid of the ocean, and even more zany characters. It’s just a different name on my book and shelf placement. Of course, that means also that some of my deadlines have shifted. In a good way, of course. I have more time for my copy edits. (But they’re still around the end of this month. LOL)

Do you have some of my books in your TBR list?

  1. I absolutely can’t WAIT to read your book. A mermaid who’s afraid of the water?!?! AWESOME!

  2. LOL The “mermaid who’s afraid of the water” hooked me, too!

And, Shawntelle, I can’t believe you haven’t finished MOCKINGJAY? How could you stop in the middle of that book! ;-)

As for books on your list that I want to read, I absolute cannot wait to get started on ENCLAVE. Ann Aguirre is one of my favoritest authors, so I’m sure it’ll be real and gritty and fantastic!

    Yeah, what Amanda said!

Mockingjay is pretty good, but I can’t decide if I’m okay with the ending or not. It was so bleak…

  4. @Nadia I’m not okay with the ending *grumble grumble*

@Sandy Williams: So it wasn’t just me, huh? Hero Material said, “But that’s just how it’s meant to be,” but I was like, “NO! I wanted something more!”
