As an author, we know fans want more. Publishers know this too, that’s why they encourage authors to get out there and: blog, tweet, facebook…and now Pinterest.

I’ve been holding out — trying to keep a grasp on my time and say no to distractions. But I just finished my first round of edits on HOT BLOODED and sent them to my editor early this morning. So I found myself with…some spare time (it’s debatable, but I’m going with it).

The world did not prepare me for the…utter AWESOME time-suck that has been Pinterest. Now, I know some of you will still be disbelievers and will hold out, like I did, and say thing like, “I don’t get it? You just PIN pictures. Booooring.”

But Pinterest is so much more than that! What you choose and how you display each picture represents a little bit about who you are. It tells us what you love, what you think is important to share and gives whoever’s looking a glimpse into your character. Today I posted personal pics of my life and my space. I hope it says something about me you didn’t know before — in a way only pictures can. It’s also a place we authors can show you our writing inspirations, writing pics, office spaces and…the occasional bare-chested man. Oh, yes. The men. Please don’t forget the men.

I wasn’t a writer, my dream job would’ve been a Food Photographer. There is something so beautiful about getting each shot just right.

Come and find a little Mayhem on Pinterest.

One Response to “I’ve succumbed to the Pinterest Craze!”

  1. Oh, hurray! Pinterest is THE BOMB! I love it, but yes, it’s definitely a time suck. A really fun, awesome, I-can’t-give-it-up time suck of WIN!

In other words, I like it a lot.

And I agree. I think Pinterest lets people see the real us. Most of the stuff I pin isn’t even writing related.

    So happy you caved in!
